The GNB Batteries consider the preservation of the environment a priority and believes that this objective can only be achieved with an environmental management coherent and effective, directly linked to the General Administration of the company and under your responsibility.

This concern is present in all stages and processes, which are necessarily conducted in compliance with the strictest environmental standards. The company also invests in wastewater treatment and in the prevention of accidents, with the objective in do not interfer in the ecological system and local biodiversity of the region where their units are installed.

The recycling of materials is an important practice for maintaining and environmental conservation.

Recycling batteries is above all an attitude of respect for the environment and life. Without recycling, the batteries, which are an essential item to enable the production and quality of life would rapidly become a cause of an irreversible damage to the environment. Within these parameters, the GNB - National Group Batteries – represent an important environmental asset to the extent that it encourages the recycling of automotive batteries, enabling the reuse of potentially toxic materials and causing them to return, safely, efficiently and with quality, to perform your paper of providing energy.

The CONAMA resolution No. 401/2008, which includes among other things, maximum levels of chemicals for batteries sold in the territory national, it also determines the criterion and standards for your management environmentally appropriate, recommends that all points of sale of batteries in country must offer for the consumers a collection units to receive discarded products. In the Collection Program, all establishments that sell automotive batteries are obligated to take used batteries of any brand, preserve the acidic solution (not throwing in sewers, or adding water) and forward the collected material to manufacturers who, in turn, will be responsible for the recycling.

The transport of automotive batteries, as both new, used or unserviceable, shall be in accordance with Decree Law No. 96044 of May 18, 1988, dealing with the Road Transport of Dangerous Products legislation and standards complementary techniques as follows: the vehicles must have affixed panels safety and risk labels, the driver must be accredited and the MOOP course, the freight must be palletized and tarpped. The vehicle must have an emergency kit and EPI. The driver should keep the envelope with emergency form with instructions for accidents, fire, ingestion, inhalation, contact phone, etc.
